DONAU SAAT/SAATBAU LINZ

SAATBAU LINZ Company was founded in 1950 as a result of the merger of five regional seed cooperatives of Upper Austria. Today about 3,000 Austrian farmers are members and owners of this powerful agricultural cooperative.

For more than 65 years the company is dealing with selection, cultivation and seeds sale in Europe. Each year, about 350 varieties/hybrids of 85 crops are bred in the special climatic zones of Austria and neighboring countries. In the cooperative group SAATBAU seed production is conducted on an area of more than 40 000 ha.

The main activity of SAATBAU is breeding and seed production. SAATBAU breeding stations are located in Austria, Germany, France, Romania and Chile. Our work is to develop hybrids of corn and sunflower, varieties of winter and spring wheat, winter and spring barley, winter and spring rape, soy and many other crops. We consider, our main obligation to agriculture to produce high-quality seeds that are distinguished by their genetic purity, health and high germination. In the seeds production we use modern equipment with high production capacity. Today we own 10 modern seed plants located in Europe.
